Create a Customer...Don't Settle
For Just a Sale!Last
week I had a customer contact me regarding a problem with the order
they had placed. After some heated discussions with my
supplier - I was able to fix a problem that was a minor oversight by
my supplier.
The problem was corrected and I
pretty much didn't give it a second thought. Much to my
surprise I received an email from my customer with a powerful
statement that made me think.
"Tim, thank you again for having
our order reprinted - although this might have seemed like a minor
issue, you really came through". "We have been doing
business with Bizarre Promotions for over 5 years, because you
always take care of us".
I didn't realize we'd been
servicing this customer for 5 years - so I started looking at the
sales for a few other customers. The pattern continued, 3, 4,
6 and even 10 years of sales history for various customers.
I've seen many sales people strive
for just a sale. A sale is pretty much a one time deal.
If you take the time to Create A Customer - you'll see a pattern
that will ensure your companies survival...a Customer will buy over
and over again!
Be sure you are Creating
Customers...leave the sale to the here today, gone tomorrow
salesperson.
Best of Luck

Multiple Audience Promotion
Objective:
To increase dairy product sales during slow winter months.
Strategy and Execution:
Concerned that the customer base was not aware of the full range of Wisconsin dairy products offered by the advertiser, a seven-week "Cheddercation" campaign was created. At the initial sales meeting, "Professor Colby" (AKA the marketing vice president) donned a white lab coat and yellow Swiss cheese mortarboard to outline the details of the promotion by getting 'down to basics' - a huge drawing of a cow. Each participant was presented his/her "Cheddercation Book Bag," a canvas zippered portfolio printed to resemble Swiss cheese. Inside were product information, recipes and specialties to distribute on sales calls.
Sales quotas were announced and the sales force told they had "to make the grade" through report cards customers would be given to grade presentations. A lunch box bearing a childishly printed list of products on its top and cheese samples inside was distributed. On sales calls, associates carried their book bag and sample-filled lunch box and customers were given an imprinted "Make the Grade" pencil to complete the report card form and a yellow ruler to promote the theme, "Sysco's Golden Rule is Wisconsin Real Dairy Products." Each marketing associate had to present the "Cheddercation" package to 20 customers-and receive a satisfactory grade-to obtain a prize of money on top of a bonus for new dairy sales.
Results:
"Professor Colby" wrote, "...We achieved a 21.5% increase in dairy sales over last year." |

Business Cards - Boost Your Business With Business Card Power
by Frank Owen
If you have business cards but don't find them yourself then clearly you aren't taking advantage of all business cards have to offer. Business cards when used correctly can stimulate business, improve your profit margins, create networks and even increase brand recognition. The best part? You can make your own so don't have to spend a fortune using this easy and efficient business tool.
So how do you make the most of business cards?
Steps For Utilizing Business Cards
One of the simplest ways to maximize your business cards potential is to use both sides of your business cards. Most people assume that they only need to fill in one side. This simply isn't the case! On the back side of your card you can offer potential clients or customers important information about your business, offer discounts or other offers that may help promote your business or use a unique selling proposition to help customers remember who you are and what makes your business unique.
Here are some suggestions for making the most of the back of your business card:
- Offer customers a free gift for visiting your site or store.
- Transform your business card into a punch card fro repeat customers.
- Offer your customer a discount.
- Provide a unique web page or contact information.
- Provide interesting facts that set your business apart from the competition.
- Thank your customer for their patronage.
