Xcel II - 55029

A rather large insurance company was looking for a "new" gift to
give to their best clients during the holiday season instead of
their usual gift of food. They wanted to spend between $15 and $20
on each customer. Each of the top ten salespeople was told to pick
15 of their top clients.
Each of the chosen clients were sent the
55029 Xcel pen which not only looks
beautiful, but it has a ceramic roller ball which writes beautifully
as well. Each pen was laser engraved with the insurance company's
logo on one side of the cap and the client's name on the opposite
side. They were packaged in a velvet pouch and sent to the clients
with a card thanking them for their business the past year.
The original order was for 150 pens. When the distributor called on
his customer in February, they commented that this was the best
response they'd ever experienced from any gift they had given to
customers over the years. They also commented that several people
had inquired where they could purchase these pens.
Since this particular pen comes in so many attractive colors, it's
easy to blend with any corporate color scheme. The distributor
salesperson that wrote the original order for the insurance company
also wrote 15 more orders for over 500 of the 55029 Xcel pens from
customers of the insurance company.

Add a bonus to your proposal and close the
deal
When times are tough the marketplace is even more competitive, and
sometimes price alone will not get you the sale. Bundling or
combining a bonus in with your product or service adds value to your
proposal and you will win the job over a competitor that may have
the lowest price.
Pricing wars are making most competitors prices very similar down to
the penny. Customers will lean toward a vendor that offers the most
value for their money.
You must learn what each individual customers needs are. If you get
to know them and their needs, adding a valued bonus will be very
easy. You may need to conduct a survey or poll by mail, phone or
email to gain more information about what your customers are looking
for in terms of a bundled package of your services or products.
Once you have the data you can start the process and package your
extra valued service or products with confidence that you are
filling a void that is needed and wanted. Value will stand out when
prices are competitive and you will win more sales by bundling an
offer that has greater value than your competitors are offering.
