BIZARRE THOUGHTS

Do you ever email prospects and they do not REPLY to your emails?

Here are a few suggestions to increase your prospect email replies.

1. Always include their first name in the beginning of the SUBJECT line of the email. Something like this:

Subject: Zophia – Here is the quote you requested
or
Subject: Zophia - nice meeting you at…

WHY is using a prospects name so important?
Because of all the SPAM email (Junk Email) everyone received daily. Most will just DELETE any email that they do not instantly recognize without ever reading it. They aren't being mean, just trying to save some time.

By adding your prospects NAME in the subject line, they know at least that (a) you know their name, so it's not junk email or bulk email, and (b) you took the time to put their name there.

2. Keep the TEXT you actually write in your email as short as possible, to the point, and include a couple of questions, for them to reply to.

3. Follow up with a brief email to your prospect every 2-3 days until they either give you the sale or appointment you are asking for.  Or they may demand to be removed from your emails, which I suggest you do.

4. Never assume that the person is IGNORING you. Remain positive and excited in ALL your replies, even if it is email reply #38 and it's been 6 months.

5. If you are using Outlook or a similar program – be sure to set follow up dates to keep plugging away at the prospect.

6. Remember, EMAILS only WARM up your prospect. The personal touch of conversation will get the sale in the end.

CASE STUDIES

Class:
Business to Business

Type:
More Than $10 Per Recipient

Objective:
To increase awareness of the advertiser's commercial loan program; to add five new commercial loans.

Strategy and Execution:
Decision-makers at 200 small to medium size businesses were targeted by mail to receive promotional products packaged in brochures. In each piece, product and copy were related, e.g., a money clip with copy pointed out "...after 100 years, we've got things rolling at a pretty good clip." Or, "We'd like to show you the light" about commercial loans with an enclosed pen light.

Results:
By as early as one third of the way into the six-month program, "we have achieved 40% of our goal of direct business inquiries," said the advertiser's vp of planning and development.
