BIZARRE THOUGHTS

FOLLOW-UP

Mastering a Follow-up System is a necessity.  Looking to increase sales - dumb questions I know!

The sooner you decide the METHOD you will use for following up with prospects the sooner you'll be on track to increase sales.

There are two basic follow up methods you should consider; Paper and/or Computer.

Some of the PAPER methods include: A day planner, The old post-it note method, 3x5 cards and index file box with tabs numbered 1-31 and Jan-Dec.

Some of the COMPUTER options will include: A FREE program called TASK PLUS, a PALM Pilot, or MicroSoft Outlook (not Outlook Express), ACT, or Goldmine.

Remember the best Follow-up system is only as good as you are committed to using it.

Also, at the end of a conversation with a prospect, set your follow-up schedule right then and there - a week, a month or even next year - just log it immediately!

You will need to be SELF-motivated to work and grow your business each day using any Follow-up system that works for you.

If you Follow-up your sales will surely go up as well.

Class:
Consumer Promotion

Type:
Under $10 Per Recipient

Objective:
To enhance company image and promote environmental leadership.

Strategy and Execution:
Using recycled materials, the advertiser developed "discovery packs" to illustrate its concern for "The Environment - A Natural Commitment." The pack was a spiral bound book containing experiments and explanations about air, water, wildlife which would be excellent teaching aids for fourth-grade students. In the pack were theme/advertiser-imprinted products including solar powered calculators, wildflower seeds, thermal hot water gauges. At the school introductory presentations, a rain machine was built to show how polluted water can run off into the water supply. Packs were also presented to 6,000 officials and dignitaries.

Results:
It was reported the campaign won the "1993 City of Austin Environmental Awareness Award." The pack has become part of the fourth-grade foundation curriculum by the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission.

BIZARRE SALES SENSE

Get your prospects help!

Showing your product or service to a prospect is the ultimate sales situation. Your presentation will make or break the sale.  By demonstrating how your product or service should be applied to your prospects situation is critical in making the sale.

Your product or service must be exactly what your prospect needs or wants.  Get your prospect to help you with your sales presentation.  Make sure you research the needs of your prospect, ask questions – failing in this area will ultimately cost you the sale and waste your valuable time.  Failing to present a product or service correctly the first time will cost you all future presenting opportunities with that particular prospect.

You get only one shot – make sure you do it right!

Being a good listener could save the day – should you be going down the wrong path with your presentation – being able to change gears and focus on the needs of your prospect in a smooth manor will put you in good standings with your prospect for future opportunities.

Knowing your product or services inside and out – is so important. Too many salespeople jump in head first instead of learning all the basics of their product line.  Being able to answer all questions fired at you will give your prospect the confidence needed to give you the sale.

Remember:

Always ask your prospect questions prior to your presentation – to insure you are pitching the right product or service to fit their needs.
Show the wrong product or service to your prospect – and you’ll loose them forever.
Know your products – top to bottom.
Involve your prospect from the very beginning.

If you give your prospect exactly what he or she wants, then you will get exactly what you want…THE SALE!
